Fiji and the Coronavirus. Is it safe to travel?
Quite naturally there is a lot of worry about international travel at this time. Certain countries are under a no international arrivals flight ban, and people are stranded in isolation after the outbreak of the Coronavirus, now called Covid-19. We wish all well who have been affected by this – whether in isolation or affected more indirectly.
There are no precautions needed when travelling to Fiji at this time.
Now is a time to think about travelling safely and without risk. The Fijian Government has implemented new entry measures from 2 February and all borders are closed to foreign nationals who have been in mainland China 14 days before travelling to Fiji.
Additionally, thermal screening at all Asian departure ports into Fiji has been introduced with medical declarations, new landing cards and health checks for passengers who have recently travelled to Hubei Province in China in place. Apart from this – there are no other precautions needed when travelling to Fiji.
