Savasi Island Resort Review by Sharon Cooper
After a short flight from Brisbane, I touched down in Fiji and began my journey to the stunning Savasi Island Resort in Northern Fiji. Just a short one-hour transfer from Nadi followed by a 10-minute car ride, the arrival was seamless and I was rewarded immediately. Stretching along a dramatic coastline, Savasi feels like a hidden paradise, offering an escape that is both indulgent and tranquil.
The resort features just 11 private villas, each designed with care and attention to detail. Every villa has its own large infinity pool and breathtaking views, with a choice between oceanfront drama or the peaceful lagoon side. I stayed in the Waterfall Villa, where sweeping views of both the ocean and lagoon created a sense of absolute calm. The villa was spacious, spotless, and filled with thoughtful Fijian touches.
The private infinity pool was the epitome of luxury.

What truly sets Savasi apart, though, is its people. Every day, the staff welcomed us by name at each meal, with warmth and genuine care that made the stay unforgettable. Roberta at the bar mixed one of the best vodka martinis I’ve ever had, while Rico brought the dining room to life each evening with his joyful singing. Sala, Mila, and Kele ensured that every meal felt personal and relaxed, while chef Mili delighted us with creative menus that changed daily. The seafood, caught fresh that very day, was a highlight of every meal.
The resort managers, Vili and Ma, ensured everything ran seamlessly. One evening, I witnessed Vili help orchestrate a surprise wedding proposal on the beach. This magical moment reflected the resort’s attention to detail and commitment to creating once-in-a-lifetime memories for guests.

Each day brought new opportunities to explore. Eddie, the activities manager, kept the daily schedule varied and exciting, from complimentary snorkelling trips to cultural excursions. My favourite was kayaking across the salt lake followed by a refreshing swim in its pristine waters. For those who love the ocean, there are endless snorkelling and scuba diving options, with vibrant reefs just waiting to be explored.
The dining settings were always private and romantic, often overlooking the ocean. One of the most magical experiences was enjoying dinner in the cave adorned with fairy lights – an atmosphere unlike anywhere else. And to truly unwind, the spa was divine. A couples massage in an open-air bure, accompanied by the sound of waves, was the perfect way to relax.

Beyond the resort itself, the island offers endless places to discover: secluded beaches with crystal-clear water, hidden trails, and the blow hole where the tide sends dramatic jets of water into the sky. It’s a playground for nature lovers, yet peaceful enough that you can do nothing at all and feel completely content.
At Savasi, I found ultimate tranquillity, natural beauty, and heartfelt hospitality. Whether you’re seeking romance, adventure, or simply time to recharge, this exclusive retreat offers an experience that will stay with you long after you leave.
